Por que "have ever heard", e não "has ever heard"?

Por que "have ever heard", e não "has ever heard", se "um punhado de pessoas" é 3ª pessoa do singular?

Olá Vinícius,

Boa pergunta! Em inglês, com expressões como "a handful of people", "a few people", "a group of people", entre outras, o verbo será usado sempre no plural, pois "people" é um substantivo contável no plural.

  • There are a few people in the house.
  • A handful of athletes make millions.

Abraços!
